Character centered illustration made for PopTales Berlin Exhibit, as part of the Pictoplasma Fessival's Character Walk of 2017.
The character itself is inspired by the inca deity of the same name, a representation of what we could call "mother earth", a symbol of fertility and prosperity which played a major role in the Inca culture. As a secondary element, Inti (the sun deity) is being held by the pachamama, who in turn gathers his energy to provide to the world.
Ornaments are inspired by Inca metalworks and the character itself gathers references from diverse fertility deity representations from across the globe.
